Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl June 2022 Twitch Viewer’s Tourny

For the first time ever in Croakitoad, we held a 23-character full fledged one night only single elimination tournament straight to the finish. Which Croakitoad community member’s accounted for character took it all the way to the finish line and won the entire thing? We’ll be doing this again later this year when the two other DLC characters have been released! This was really fun to watch and reminisce about as the tournament went on! In the end, it was Garfield, chosen by Jherr94, who survived every other character and won our very first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Tournament!

2022 Summer Game Fest Live Reactions Livestream

For the first time ever, I decided to have a reactions livestream on Twitch to the 2022 Summer Game Fest video game announcements show in June 2022! This seemed to go over pretty well and all of the community seemed to enjoy this, so I will probably be bringing this back again for future game announcements and shows that come our way! Specifically, the next one seems to be this upcoming Sunday for the Bethesda & Xbox Showcase! I offered a bit of my comments and thoughts about all of the trailers and announcements that were made here in my very first stream of this kind LIVE on my Twitch channel! Keep your eyes peeled, I’ll probably be doing more of this in the future on all future gaming news announcements and shows with live reactions from the chat as it happens!

82-Person Smash Bash Viewer’s Tournament in May 2022

This is the longest and biggest Smash Bash ever done, with 82 participants included into this one night, single elimination tag team tournament on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch! I decided to be a little giving in May of 2022, so I decided to put every single community member involved in the Croakitoad Discord server into the tournament, most of them utilizing the characters they usually choose every other month and put them all up against one another! The winning team actually ended up being my sibling team represented by Ness & Shulk, which was pretty crazy and really unexpected, so congrats to them for winning the longest and largest Smash Bash ever conducted at Croakitoad! I think with a few more members added to the tournament, we’d actually have had every single character in the game accounted for! Maybe another time later down the road, perhaps!

Two hours of the Overwatch 2 Beta

We played two hours of the Overwatch 2 Beta on April 27th, 2022 to kind of scope things out and check everything out! Some of us liked the brand new UI and some of us didn’t. Some of the new character abilities were pretty cool and I especially enjoyed the new maps and the different modes they are bringing to the table for the sequel. My personal character, Zenyatta, I couldn’t really notice any significant changes with him other than he seemed like he was a bit faster. I will definitely be picking this game up when it is released as I am a pretty big Overwatch fan and have always enjoyed the game, even when sometimes it gets a little bit salty at times!

An hour of Reiko’s Fragments (Steam VR)

I played about an hour of this awesome Steam VR game that really utilizes some pretty cool technology I haven’t seen before. It allows for Twitch chat viewers to really mess up your gameplay when you are trying to find the fragment and bring it back to the gate before the AI ghost gets you and slices your throat off! It allows for up to eight Twitch chatters to try and scare you and mess you up as you try and achieve your goals. I really thought this was a lot of fun, and can’t wait to try it out again with a full stack of Twitch viewers really messing me up! There were a bit of bitrate drops in the process of this video, so I’ll probably have to go in and adjust the FPS limit or something, but overall this was a lot of fun and I really enjoy how it allowed for Twitch viewer participation!

Let’s Play Key of Impasse (Steam VR)

This is a panic room style game that will end in thirty minutes no matter how hard you try, because at the end of the time limit is a great, big kaboom! You’ve got to find four keys hidden around the room and figure out the puzzles to get to them and unlock the door to your freedom. This is a pretty nice little game that allows you to test your mettle in a few puzzles that are quite a bit challenging. I couldn’t figure out the fuse box puzzle for the life of me, until a viewer in my chat broke the news to me on how to solve it! If you are looking for something that’s pretty short and also utilizes the VR and is a puzzle style game, this is a pretty good one to try out!

Let’s Play Resident Evil (Game Boy Color Mod)

I waited an entire week before I could actually play this, and boy was it a whole lot of fun! The Jill Valentine portion was exactly as I expected it would be like and really fun and enjoyable. The Chris Redfield side was a bit on the challenging side, and things got a bit dicey there around the hunter arrival part on ammunition, but we managed to scrape through the game alright. I really enjoyed how Leigiboy and the rest of the team put this all together and they did a wonderful job making this Game Boy Color mod of the original game a reality! The sound effects were golden and the ability to use quick turn and even skip the door cutscenes is great! Well done to everybody involved in making this project!

If you’d like to try this mod out for yourself, you can check it out by heading here!

Let’s Play Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond (Steam VR)

Playing through the very first Medal of Honor game in VR on the Oculus Quest 2. This was a two part series, with me gunning through the entire campaign and taking down nazis left and right to try and win World War II. I enjoyed some of the levels in the game, including the V2 Rocket Base and Normandy and there were a lot of funny moments like killing nazi’s with random items and doing funny things along the way. I thought the game was overall a lot of fun and a great way to expand the VR experience to WW2 shooters, but the arenas were quite small in each level and there were a lot of loading screens in between levels and segments. The post campaign vault was a nice touch, showing enemies, cutscenes and vehicles up close so you can really get a close look at things. The game was a bit challenging at times, but overall a fun experience if you enjoy VR shooters.

Two hours of Ghost Exile (Steam)

We decided to try out a few hours of this brand new paranormal investigative game releaesd by LostOneTeam on my Twitch livestream in early January 2022. We played a few rounds, testing out the ghost AI and trying out different things and methods out. I’m so used to Phasmophobia that it was hard to get used to something different, but once I got over learning curve of the new game, I feel like this might be the next best thing to come out. It isn’t overly complicated and pretty easy to figure out, although the ghost AI acts really weird and I found it was hard to get the third evidence in most of our attempts. We’ll keep trying this game out and see how well it ends up as more patches and updates come out for it.

Two hours of Team Fortress 2

Time to take it back old school, before the times of Overwatch! This was a real nostalgia trip to revisit once again on this free to play game on PC/Steam! Across two hours, we went across a few servers, playing against other players, bots and even ourselves. Some of us were experienced, others had never even played the game before. Either way, it was a ton of fun and brought back some memories for me from the last time I played this game which has been many, many years ago. By the way, I still suck at this game. Althought, I feel like the sniper and the flamethrower are probably my favorite characters. Maybe we’ll come back to this game again and give it some more love, we’ll see!

Defeating the Ender Dragon end boss in Minecraft

Here’s the final moments after a five day streaming binge on Minecraft survival. This was 100% vanilla, which included no mods, addons, hacks, cheats or anything. We legitimately found the Ender Fortress, the The End Fortress and everything else leading up to where this clip began. This clip includes the whole boss fight against the Ender Dragon in Minecraft and then the ending credits of the game. Of course, there’s always MORE to do in a sandbox game like Minecraft, but as far as the campaign experience of the game, we just completed that together as a team and took home the prized dragon egg! It was so awesome to have finally completed the game like this and an accomplishment I’ll always cherish, because not everybody can do this!

2021 Toys For Tots Christmas Marathon playlist

On December 24th and December 25th, 2021; the Croakitoad Twitch community came together across 24-hours total to come up with $300 raised for the Toys For Tots Foundation over the holidays! We put together a team of over ten livestreamers from all over the world in our very first marathon of any kind, and did well over our expectations for a small group that’s less than a year old! I appreciate everybody for being there, participating or being there as a viewer and supporting with hosts and raids. We appreciate everybody and I was super excited to have done something amazing and for an awesome cause this Christmas! We’ll be planning our next major gaming event soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
