Let’s Play Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest

I know people like to rag on this game a lot (ala AVGN) because of how cryptic everything is in the game, and I can totally understand that if this were the 90’s NES days where all you have is Nintendo Power to help you. However, this is 2024 now and access to the internet has totally trivialized the notion that you can’t figure out where to go. I can agree that some of the points of progression are really cryptic and annoying, but at the end of the day this is a really fair game with a balanced difficulty system I feel like. It’s not too hard to get through and none of the bosses really felt “NES hard.” I love that skip towards the end of the game you can do by buying one extra stake which basically skips the second to last mansion in the game, that’s great. This is probably my favorite Castlevania game that I’ve played so far, but I know Symphony of the Night is also highly regarded!
