Ten suggestions for WWE 2K22

Now, some of these in the list might be coming from personal opinion, but I honestly believe that for a professional wrestling game to thrive in today’s climate, especially with as rough things have been going for the WWE lately, you really need to make sure you keep the fans and customers of the game happy. There are things that have been requested for years that haven’t been in a game for a long, long time. Is it because it’s been nixed due to executive decision? Is it because there was never enough time to add things back in? Whatever the reasoning, they’ve had time to dot the i’s and cross the t’s this go around, so here’s hoping that 2K and the people behind the game actually add in some of the following:

Well, it certainly looks okay from this standpoint… but what about everything else?

1. GM Mode
While I could possibly go one way or the other on this one, it’s no question in anyone’s minds that the most requested thing to have added back to a WWE video game has been a GM mode. This is a mode that has gone by the wayside for whatever reason and the fans have asked for years to bring it back, much to no avail. I personally thought it was a pretty decent mode and I did get some enjoyment out of it, but this wouldn’t hurt me one way or another. I play these games for a whole different reason, which we’ll get into next.

2. CAS (Create-A-Show) Mode
For running an e-fed, I still think WWE 2K14 is the best wrestling game that’s ever been made. It had basically all of the best of all worlds and made it work. Sure, the game wasn’t perfect and some technology came out later that made things a whole lot easier, like completely circumventing the paint tool option, but overall that game was a treasure and what made it so great was the fully functional custom story modes you could put together. There were so many scenes to keep things fresh utilizing all sorts of characters. This is something that NEEDS to be added back.

3. Men vs. Women
It’s been talked about how the AEW video game featured some spots showcasing men vs. women in their trailer. This option has been disabled for several years when it comes to WWE video games. Do I think it will make a return in 2K22? I really doubt it, and if it doesn’t that’s fine. In today’s climate, having men face off against women even in a video game would be interesting just based on the feedback from fans and opinions from those on the internet. It would definitely bring back the classic days to wrestling games if this option was allowed, or in the very least a tickable option so that you could toggle intergender matches on or off. Surely, that wouldn’t be too hard to toss in?

4. A game without obviously blaring bugs, crashes and bad optimization
This is the fate that WWE 2K21 suffered, by a running mile. I can speak from personal experience that booting up the game and going into create a wrestler and going into the hair crashed my game. That’s literally all I did. When you have a game that crashes like that, and does it repeatedly, you’ve got a problem. There’s been an entire year to fix everything and go in with a microscope and figure out what went wrong. This doesn’t go for just a wrestling game, this goes for any game. If you put out something that hasn’t been tested and runs as horrible as WWE 2K21, you are going to have a disaster on your hands, and I don’t think WWE 2K can take another hit like that.

5. Importing custom music / theme songs
I believe this is another option that has been highly sought after for several years, but has failed to make an appearance in a long time. Due to today’s climate in terms of DMCA and copyrights on songs and all of that, I highly doubt this function will get added back in, but we could all get surprised, right? This used to be so handy an option to have in the games when you could just pick any song on your console’s hard drive or computer and have the game play it for you. If you have ran an e-fed in the past few years, you know all about having to manually play the songs for entrances. While it does become “part of the norm” after a while, I really miss the days where the entrances just worked for themselves.

6. Bring back match types lost in history
There have been a lot of match types that have came and went in WWE video games, but there are a lot of them that I’d love to see make a return for the game. Stipulations like “I Quit,” ” Special Referee,” “Inferno Match” and “Buried Alive” would be great to see come back and actually work like how they are supposed to. With how wacky they made some of the content for WWE 2K21 (like wrestling in hell, for example) why wouldn’t they bring some of these modes back? It’s not like these are fantasy stipulations that are too hot for television. These are things that have happened a lot, and still happen in today’s climate. Why even get rid of them to begin with?

7. Have a comprehensive backstage arena
They did a little bit of this during some of the career modes a few years back, but it wasn’t really quite like those original SmackDown games, was it? Where you could walk all around backstage and go into the boiler room, kitchen, outside in the parking lot or in front of the arena? With games like The Witcher, Skyrim and the like, you can’t tell me that getting an arena put together and being able to interact with objects, places and rooms backstage would be too far fetched to include in the game. This would be such an awesome addition to the game, coupled with the fact that you could utilize this for backstage brawls, falls count anywhere matches, hardcore matches and the like.

8. Create A Finisher
It’s been a long time since we had this option, but I remember just how excited people were to see this included and how creative some people got when it came to making their own finishing maneuvers. Would it go over as well these days? It’s really hard to tell, with how extensive the move list bank is for the games these days, which is something that they’ve done very well. You’ve gotta give credit where it’s due. The one drawback the last time created finishers came around was that they didn’t do as much damage to other characters that stock moves would do, so that would prompt most people to not even use the created finishers. I think this would be something fun to add back into the game, and I included it on the list because I remember the excitement for this, but the amount of moves included in games these days are actually pretty impressive as is.

9. Custom crowd signs
Okay, this is actually one I don’t really see anybody ever talking about, but I found this to be really cool. Honestly, how hard do you think it would be to add this function back in? If memory serves me correctly this only made it into one game in the past, and I actually really enjoyed it. It was implemented through paint tool and each superstar had their own specific signs the fans would pull out at random when they were wrestling or making their entrances. It was quite limited, with only a few slots to be able to use, but it was still pretty fun and creative. I feel like this should be something that should have always just been included in the games this entire time, but for whatever reason it’s been overlooked.

10. Minimum 100 CAW slots and 10 in the ring
When I say minimum, I mean there’s no reason to have any less for created superstars in a game in the year of 2022. I feel like the limit should be A LOT higher than 100, but we can’t get everything, can we? As long as it remains 100, I guess I’ll be happy with that and deal with it. I know of a ton of wrestling fans who find themselves quickly seeing that 100 allotment dry up very, very fast and I’m one of them. Having 200 slots for custom wrestlers I think would be a fair balance and give enough room to be able to really enjoy the experience of utilizing wrestlers who aren’t in WWE, past superstars or WWE wrestlers with custom attires not stock included in the game. As far as in the ring action goes, I was so happy to see them finally update the amount of people to eight in the ring after what seemed like five years after it should have happened. Now, let’s bump that up to ten and we can call it the day, right? The Survivor Series match has been a staple in WWE since the early 90’s, and the fact that you can’t have an appropriate match type for that is really a shame. I understand the limitations and all of that for earlier games, but this is 2021 and there’s really no reason this can’t happen. The ring might get a little tight with ten people at the same time, but that’s something they deal with in real life too. This is a video game, so if you want to jam pack the ring and have a monster battle royal and see everybody kicking ass, then why shouldn’t we be able to do that?

Thanks for reading my ten suggestions for WWE 2K22. Let’s hope that even if one of these suggestions make the cut, the game is good and has had enough time to digest what went wrong last time and give us something we can all appreciate and enjoy. I want to see the game succeed, I want to have fun with the game and I want to spend endless hours playing a brand new wrestling video game again. I feel like if WWE 2K22 is another miss, it’s going to be really bad for the company as a whole and with tight competition from AEW and Virtual Basement coming their way, I don’t think it’s going to end well.

QuakeCon 2021: Spending the BYOC from home

2021 was host to the second year that QuakeCon was going to be from home, so we as a community prepared to make the most out of it and had a whole lot of fun gaming across several days, including some co-op fun that I wasn’t even expecting until the very last moment! QuakeCon always comes around each year with its fair share of swag, so I can’t forget to post up all the cool stuff I got this year to celebrate the event from home, including three cases of BAWLS energy drink to cover me probably until QuakeCon 2022 as well!

QuakeCon 2021 swag, BAWLS and some memorabilia from the past. We’re ready!

With the preparations and swag in tow, the livestreaming for the next few days went off great with tons of great games being played across the whole weekend. Games like Phasmophobia, Golf With Your Friends, Tabletop Simulator, Friday the 13th, Dead by Daylight, Minecraft, Fire Pro Wrestling World, Fallout 76, Rocket League, Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Tons of multiplayer action went all around and lots of fun was certainly had, almost as if we were in the BYOC like any other normal year for QuakeCon!

So many games were played during the weekend! We even put together a DOOM puzzle on Tabletop Sim!

It wasn’t just multiplayer games that got the QuakeCon 2021 treatment, though. We had planned on doing a full run of the original Quake for some time, and it was about time to make that happen while the event was happening. A handful of us got together and played through all of the levels of Quake together utilizing a co-op mod, and it actually ended up being a whole lot of fun! For many, it was their first time even playing Quake, so I was glad to have shared that experience with some friends while QuakeCon was live in 2021!

We managed to beat the original Quake together utilizing a co-op mod. This was a lot of fun!

Not only that, but the decision came very late into the event that since we had beaten the original Quake at QuakeCon 2021, why not try another one of id Software’s greatest hits and let’s break it down and play through some Wolfenstein 3D?! This was also achieved using a great co-op mod and we were able to rip and tear through all of the maze-like levels gunning down nazi’s and their generals to make it to the very end of the game. This was another achievement I am pretty proud of, because it took place (once again) at QuakeCon!

B.J. Blazkowicz and his twin brothers, murdering nazi’s and beating Wolfenstein 3D!

There was another contest going on during QuakeCon, and that involved pets wearing hats! So, I figured what the heck. Why not indulge and have a little fun since we’re all making the most out of the event. I saw a lot of great contestants in the contest, and decided that my Great Pyrenees, “Sarge” would make a great contestant for the event, despite not really being one to wear hats normally! While Sarge didn’t win the contest (it went on to a snake in a birthday hat!), we still had a lot of fun enjoying and celebrating another year of QuakeCon!

Sarge isn’t really one for hats on a day to day basis, but he made an exception for QuakeCon!

So here’s to everybody that celebrated this annual event in their own way or another, and to those who spent it celebrating with me through classic co-op games, fun times had through multiplayer games, and that always juicy QuakeCon Steam Sale for those amazing deals you’ve been waiting for! While it wasn’t spent in person, I’ve been going to QuakeCon for many, many years and I can’t wait to attend in person once again. I hope everybody had a fun and safe QuakeCon 2021 and here’s hoping we’ll meet up next year!

44-Fighter Ultra Street Fighter IV Simulation Tournament

First of all, I can’t believe the fighter out of 44 characters actually won this entire tournament. If you had told me it would have been him, I would have laughed, but it does also make sense that he would also win, because of how meme/trolly my streams can get on Twitch! Thanks everyone for entering and selecting a character to represent you. This was a lot of fun to sit back and watch and see how it all broke down. I also became enlightened on a lot of Street Fighter characters I really didn’t have any knowledge about, and I am all about expanding my knowledge of different video game franchises and learning more about them. I am sure we will end up doing this again just because how fun it ended up being to watch, so keep your eyes peeled for another simulated tournament in the future!

The very first Twitch subscriber perler

The first perler has been created for Twitch.tv subscriber and community member Joenado97, who won this art piece in August via the Twitch subscriber’s raffle that is held every month in our Discord server! The Half-Life inspired Lambda logo was chosen since we had beaten Half-Life together through cooperative gameplay thanks to the Sven’s mod available on Steam.

Congratulations to Joenado on winning this very first piece made available through the Croakitoad community and thanks to everybody who has subscribed and supported the new channel since its creation back in March 2021!

Seven hours of the Jackbox Party Packs

Another Twitch community challenge points redemption, everybody pitched in to have a nice, wholesome (mostly), fun and entertaining night of Jackbox Party Packs! We went from the second game to the seventh game and almost hit up every game in each pack and had a blast doing it. A full stack for nearly the entire seven hour period, it was a lot of fun. I hadn’t ever really hosted a Jackbox stream before, and I learned a lot about a ton of the games that were on some of the Jackbox collections. We will certainly have to do this all over again, hopefully next month! Could this be a new monthly thing at the channel? We’ll have to find out!

30-Man WWE 2K20 Viewer Simulation Rumble

We decided to hold a simulated thirty man Royal Rumble match on the WWE 2K20 video game on Steam, since there really isn’t much use for it anywhere else in the e-fed regard. We had thirty community members pick a WWE superstar to represent them in this rumble match, who did it come down to?! And just because the game can’t get enough of itself, the game actually CRASHED on the winner’s screen after the match was over. Sometimes you just can’t book this stuff. Really hoping that WWE 2K22 is a great, overall, solid game that can be used to bring the fun of e-fedding back to the community! This just goes to show that WWE 2K20 was not a great release and it still boggles me to this day how they could release a game like this that just refuses to work like it does.

Civilization VI: Gandhi beats us in five hour session

Well, you know what the joke is about playing Civilization games. You won’t just be able to beat it and move on to the next, oh no. You better be ready for the long haul and the overnighter when you start up a game of Civ. That’s exactly what happened here when we did an online game of 4v1v1v1. Ultimately it came up with India and Gandhi coming up the winner through a science victory, beating all of us. I will return to this game and win a round of the game against the computer’s, no matter how much time it takes. Gandhi might have won this round, but it isn’t over yet!

Quake co-op during QuakeCon weekend August 19-21

Since QuakeCon has announced they are going digital-only for the second year in a row in the year of 2021, we’ve decided to celebrate this year with a little special playthrough! The original Quake will be on our hit list, and we’ll be playing through the entire game cooperatively online! This will take place during QuakeCon’s usual weekend between August 19-21, 2021. The actual specifics and time will be posted a bit later and closer to the event, but just keep your eyes peeled on our community Discord or the Twitch livestream to find out when and how you can be a part of this!

Any and all are welcome to join us as we frag our way through the original game’s complete campaign together online. This should be a lot of fun, as I’ve never actually played the original Quake online with anybody before. I am certainly looking forwards to this and many other games played to celebrate QuakeCon online this year!

For more news about QuakeCon, you can head to their official website here: QuakeCon (bethesda.net)

Tomb Raider 2013: One round of versus against ClosingSniper

After completing the campaign, I decided to try out a little bit of the multiplayer on the Xbox One servers and so ClosingSniper and myself ran one quick match to see how everything worked. This was actually a lot of fun, and I’d love to see a lot more people join us for a night of Tomb Raider 2013 multiplayer versus. Hiding out in the trees and stalking CS was a lot of fun, exactly the kind of way I like to play my games. It came down pretty close between us, but I squeezed out the victory on this battle! We’ll have to do more of this soon, because this was a lot of fun!

Overwatch: Two intense matches of Lucioball

I’m not exactly sure what happened to my microphone during this gaming session and didn’t realize until after it was over, so apologies for the quality. I had to capture these two games of Lucioball though, because they were the two most exciting matches I’ve ever been a part of! I’m glad I decided to stick around and help Ashterial & Zazzeris get the last few wins they needed for the Overwatch Anniversary 2021 event challenge for the week two skin, because this was a lot of fun! Both games were crazy from beginning to end and came down to really intense endings.

Happy 100 Twitch Followers

It’s always a challenge rebranding and starting something new, and this is no different. I appreciate the support from everybody thus far and look forwards to creating new moments, memories, laughs and late nights full of gaming entertainment. There’s a lot of games on my hit list right now; some new and some old. I’m just doing what I feel like doing and listening to my heart right now. Thanks to everybody who’s stopped by and showed your care and love to the new stream and I hope to someday return the favor when this new channel and community gets rebuilt. Onwards to 200 followers!

Check out the Croakitoad Resident Evil collection

I am really proud of what I’ve been able to collect over the years for my favorite video game franchise of all time. Truth be told, I’ve actually been ‘retired’ from collecting items for a handful of years now, but just recently gained access to where all of these items were safely kept. I wanted to take inventory of everything and actually showcase everything I’ve got because it’s been several years since I have actually posted pictures and showed everything off. I hope to catch up on more recent items that have been released and came out since I stopped collecting to grow this massive collection even more! This collection includes some super rare items that can’t even be found anymore, tons of foreign made items and customized once-in-a-lifetime builds as well. Tons of memorabilia that was released to celebrate a movie or a game being released and all sorts!

Some of the items that I have collected over the years are some of the following:
– Action Figures
– Novels & Comic Books
– Movies / Anime / Manga
– Video Games (of course!)
– Strategy Guides
– Light Guns
– Cosplay Items
– Foreign Memorabilia

You can check out screenshots of particular items of my collection by heading to the Facebook gallery!
